I listened to this sermon a couple years ago and was convicted. I have since watched it a couple of times and every time it grips me and makes me weep. Especially as I see the truth of his message in my own church. Blessings, Jen

It was extremely convicting for us as well. It just seems that the standards in the church have dropped sooo low, and no one is allowed to say anything about it without being called a legalist, or judgmental, etc.

That is soo true!!! My personal belief is that 'American Christians' have forgotten what true Holiness is. (In general)we look and smell just like the world...I know that if I spoke up on certain issues I would be labeled legalistic and judgemental. So, how do we raise the standards again and truly live Holy lives that reflect a Holy and Righteous God? Blessings, Jen

You hit the nail on the head!!! Holiness has been forgotten - and many people in our churches aren't even saved, as Paul Washer demonstrates in his message. I think we (believers who care about where the church is going) need to repent in our own lives, and then speak the truth of the word of God without wavering - and if someone calls us judgmental or legalistic, we can first examine ourselves to see if it is true, but if not, then we can BOLDLY proclaim the standards of scripture, and trust the Holy Spirit to empower His word. Their battle is with the word of God not us.

Peace and grace,

I like this sermon too. I think Paul is saying exactly what the church needs to hear. We are called to be "set apart" to show His glory.

Amen Tina! And with the current trends in the more "visible" churches, ie. the seeker sensitive, "Emergent" churches, who are not even giving the gospel anymore, nor teaching the bible, we need people like Paul to preach a desperate message in desperate times.
